Poem: Resurrection Woman

There is a pull to be near You
To dance a little closer to the flame
And know what it’s like to heat beyond incandescence.
A torch, a hearth fire, a funeral pyre –
I really should be more afraid.
But there are things worse than death,
And We both know this to be true.
Resurrection Woman that I am,
I take Your offered hand and burn, burn, burn.

  1. Ooh! Strong while dancing with images of frailty and a danger that can create and destroy at will. You have a very intriguing heart, and your language evokes that mood. :)
